FIS Celebrates Read Across America

Freedom Intermediate will celebrate Read Across America week by giving away new books on morning announcements. Each day, Mrs. Wade will draw a name each morning. Students may enter by simply writing their first and last name on a slip of paper and giving it to their ELA teacher. Some of the titles that are up for grabs are: Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Dorky Drama Queen, Glitter Girls and the Great Fake Out, Bad Kitty: School Daze, and Serafina and the Twisted Staff.    Selected 5th and 6th grade classes will also walk to Johnson Elementary on Friday to read to Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First graders! (Not all classes were selected due to scheduling conflicts). FIS students will share 2 of their favorite picture books with younger students to promote reading!   Last but not least, teachers shared their favorite books with students via morning announcements.
