Freedom Intermediate will celebrate Read Across America week by giving away new books on morning announcements. Each day, Mrs. Wade will draw a name each morning. Students may enter by simply writing their first and last name on a slip of paper and giving it to their ELA teacher. Some of the titles that are up for grabs are: Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Dorky Drama Queen, Glitter Girls and the Great Fake Out, Bad Kitty: School Daze, and Serafina and the Twisted Staff.

Selected 5th and 6th grade classes will also walk to Johnson Elementary on Friday to read to Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First graders! (Not all classes were selected due to scheduling conflicts). FIS students will share 2 of their favorite picture books with younger students to promote reading!

Last but not least, teachers shared their favorite books with students via morning announcements. If you would like to watch the video, you may see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFR3y_0RitM
