We are excited to begin registration for Young Scholars Institute, a summer camp consisting of two independent weeks that will occur June 5-9 and June 12-16 at Freedom Middle School, 750 New Highway 96 West.
The Franklin Special School District is proud to announce that four teachers have achieved Certification by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. This brings the number of FSSD teachers who hold a national board certification to 26.
Any 4th-7th grade families who are interested in learning more about the Franklin Special School District Honors Program in grades 5-8 are encouraged to visit the FSSD Honors Program online and find updated information and presentations for the 2023-24 school year.
The Franklin Special School District invites preschoolers between four and five years old to enroll in our Preschool Positive Peer Role Model Program for the 2023-2024 school year. The FSSD school-based preschool program meets the needs of three- to five-year-old children who have developmental delays as well as positive peer role models without delays.
The Franklin Special School District’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year! Voluntary Pre-K helps children prepare for kindergarten socially, mentally, emotionally, and physically, at no cost to families who meet eligibility requirements.
The Franklin Special School District's newest renovation project at Poplar Grove Elementary and Middle was recently recognized as the Tennessee School Boards Association 2022 School of the Year for Excellence in Architectural Design.

The Franklin Special School District is proud to be among the top 10 highest performing school districts in Tennessee based on the 2021-2022 TCAP achievement scores. In looking at the TVAAS growth scores, the FSSD achieved Level 5s in science and social studies, a Level 3 in literacy, and room to grow with a Level 1 in math.
