Families of 4th-8th graders should have found an envelope in your child’s backpack Friday, August 13, that includes your child’s Individual Student Reports from the TCAP tests they took last spring. This state report includes information about your child’s academic performance in all tested subjects. If your child was not in the district last year but was in Tennessee, you may contact your child’s previous school about his/her Individual Student Report. If your child was not in Tennessee or did not take TCAP this past spring, then there will not be an Individual Student Report.
Additionally, the Tennessee Department of Education has a new online Family Portal where families will be able to access these reports online and to assist you in understanding your child’s opportunities for growth and ways that you can best support your child’s academic goals.
In the TCAP Family Portal, families can:
- get immediate, on-demand access to your child’s state test results via your phone or computer,
- track your child’s progress over time with the “Test History” feature;
- learn the areas where your child demonstrated strengths and the areas where he/she can grow; and
- find clear next steps to help your child improve academically.
Families can register for the portal at familyreport.tnedu.gov with your child’s state ID number (also referred to as a USID), which is located on the top left-hand corner of the printed score report you received from the school. If you do not have a score report to reference, please contact your school and ask for your child’s state ID number. You may also want to review the Tennessee Department of Education’s TCAP Family Portal Help Guide.
Families of students who tested in spring 2021 will have scores in the TCAP Family Portal platform, as well as those who took TCAP tests in the spring of 2019 and/or spring of 2018.
