The Williamson County Health Department has updated its quarantine guidelines to be consistent with newly released Tennessee Department of Health and CDC guidance. The FSSD will use these newly revised Illness Guidelines (attached to email) to implement the WCHD’s quarantines of students and staff.

This update states that if a student is quarantined by the Williamson County Health Department, he/she will now be required to remain at home for 10 days (previously a 14-day requirement). Additionally, if the student does not have any symptoms and tests negative by a PCR or antigen test (collected after day 5), he/she can return to school after day 7 of quarantine. The test result must be turned in to the school for confirmation of the result before they can attend on day 8.

The Franklin Special School District will continue to send a letter, which includes the quarantine dates and important health information, to those who have been identified as a close contact with a COVID-positive case. Please contact the Williamson County Health Department or your school nurse with health-related questions.
